Vendicari

La riserva di Vendicari è una zona umida costiera che si estende a sud di Siracusa. Tra incantevoli spiagge dalla sabbia finissima e grandi pantani d'acqua salmastra rappresenta un oasi faunistica tra le più importanti d'Italia, terreno di approdo per migliaia di uccelli migratori in rotta per l'Africa, come i Fenicotteri e gli Aironi. Molte anche le specie botaniche, che crescono sulle dune e le scogliere, ormai rare in altre zone dell'isola.
Di notevole importanza storica i resti archeologici Di Eloro, antica città del VII sec. A.C., ìa Torre Sveva vicino alla Tonnara e la piccola Chiesetta bizantina della Trigona.

The Vendicari Reserve is a wide moist coastal area between enchanting beaches and great marshes of brackish water. It is a one of the most important reserves of Italy as a stopping point for thousands of migration birds on the way to and from Africa.

Trekking

Un trekking per gli amanti del mare e del birdwatching.L'itinerario attraversa tutta la riserva da nord a sud. Visiteremo resti archeologici e sosteremo su spiagge dalla bellezza esotica, dai capanni sui pantani osserveremo numerosi uccelli. Una piacevole gita in barca ci riporterà al punto di partenza.

This is a hike for those who love the sea and bird-watching. The route crosses the entire nature reserve from north to south. We'll visit archaeological runis and continue along an exotically beautiful beach. From observation boxes on the morshes, well' see numerous birds. A pleasurable boat ride will take us back to our starting point.
